I'm not an expert on egg incubation, or anything like that, but the air hole might be destroyed if its caved in. But like I said, I'm not an expert on that. How long did it take you to get eggs? It took me about 6 years with my aquatic turtles.

i just got her last month. i took her to the vet for her first exam right after i bought her, and he said that i should really watch her because shes really heavy and she might have eggs. but idk. i bought her from a local pet store that sells them for this breeder. so idk how she got pregnant...... i have a pair of RES 2. ive had them for 3 years now. my female is almost a foot long. butstill no babies. did you have to do anything special with your aquatics?

They can have eggs without having contact with a male. I didn't do anything special with my aquatics eggs. They layed the eggs in the corner of the enclosure at the fenceline, and I just made sure the dirt didn't get too dry, and that was it.

"They can have eggs without having contact with a male"

In which case they aren't fertile and won't hatch.

If it is exposed, you will have to remove it for artificial incubation. Newly laid eggs will commonly have dents, and even well advanced eggs will dent slightly if the substrate dries. Due to the fact that there are reports of female box turtles laying fertile eggs for nearly a decade after any contact with a male, it is worth a shot to incubate this one. Good luck.
