Looks like I got a snow!

Karu Sep 03, 2003 10:22 AM

This was very surprising to me. My two leos that were supossed to be normals gave me a snow leo(or at least what I think is a snow)! Here's a pic compared with a snow I found on the net. Mine is on the right.

here are the parents

what do you think?

I have had leos hatch out that look like that from normal yellow parents. Although it may keep the off yellow color into adulthood, the chances are that it will not. That is my experience anyway. It might be a good starting point to develope a snow line though.

Heck, I have had "tangerines" hatch from the same pair! Does not hold though and eventually fades away. Same thing though. Use them to work the color out, eventually.

It is also my opoinion that one should wait until the leo is at least 6 months old before naming it as this or that morph in most cases. So many things can happen in the interim regarding the coloring of a leo.
