I do Charlie... but it's a small group... and I'm definitely not going to pop out two clutches anytime soon! Again man the white on the girl is striking!

--- this is a shot of one of my lil' ladies as a hatchling ---

Charlie

That is an exceptional animal. I was thinking of getting a pair of hypos - love that clean bright look. My only expierence with pueblans was years ago and they were all nut cases - never did calm down. Are they all nuts? Or are some OK to handle?

Great shot -

Steve

Hey Steve,

While it's fresh on my mind (read: while my pants still reek of "snit" and tonight's bite wound on my hand is still fresh...), I can definitely relate to your experiences with nutcase campbelli... My hypo apricot female is awful. She's a gorgeous animal, an aggressive feeder, and will probably be an even better breeder as she gets older, but she is miserable to handle. Forget the "five minutes a day" technique -- in almost two months of that her handling sessions still result in my pants being soiled (usually by her, but sometimes by myself as she gnaws a bloody hole into my arm).

Another one of my pueblans though - same age - started really antsy, but has, unlike her, calmed a bit since I acquired him. He's still jumpy, but has yet to bite me (knock on wood).

The pueblans I raised from hatchlings, though, ended up being VERY handleable. I've found that it's a lot easier to hand-raise and maintain calm dispositioned animals than it is to try to "re-train" them later in life.

Regardless, as you said, they ARE beautiful snakes, and well-worth the fuss!

They do seem to stay a bit spastic but I don't mind it.

That's a great lookin' female there Mr. Hanklin!

I'm sure the hatchlings will look great too!

I'm not so sure about the popular part with the way I like to hold back. LOL. The first clutch should be hatching any day now. They are at the 60 day mark along with 4 other cluthes. Good times are a coming.

Nice looking clutch there! That's a pretty hypo as well. I'm sure you'll get some beauties from that clutch.
