As long as the kinks don't hinder mobility, ability to eat and ability to poop, he'll most likely be fine.

Him being able to poop is what concerns me...I'll upload some pics of him tomorrow...we have 2 that hatched out fine...2 still pipped with their little heads poking out...and one being stubborn as hell and still cozy in his egg...once they are all out I will post pics of them

I have a male that is 4 yers old and he kinked, I have had him since a baby and he is kinked from the middle of his back down to the vent. He eats and can move around just fine. Best of luck with you new babies, and congrats..

That's great that he's doing good so far, but I wouldn't breed him if I were you, there's a chance that it could affect offspring, about 1/2 mile from my house there's a pond with garter snakes, and every one of them that I've found in that area has a kinked spine, so I think it could be that there were just one or two with kinks there and it was passed on to offspring. Also, you never know if he could be in pain, he wouldn't realise it, since he's felt it all his life, even since befor he hatched; what you do with him is up to you, I don't even know what I would do. Wow, sorry to sound so depressing, I don't mean to.

not all deformities are genetic. for instance, i have a male with 2 kinks. it happened because an egg touching his was rotting badly and it was not just a dud but a rotting meat smell with very aggressive mold, and i stupidly pulled the two eggs apart two thirds through the 60 day cycle. hence, i broke his spine.

hungriest, most active snake i own. but i do exercise him regularly to help him pass his solid wastes. i just throw him in the shower stall and let him get the movement that his cramped quarters do not fully allow him, and all is ok.

might you have done something to cause this? if you are not sure, best not to breed him.

I don't think it was anything we did...We didn't even touch the eggs while they were developing...it was the eggs with the least amount of veins and the viens were very thin...seemed like when we candled the egg he was always atr the very bottom...and moved very little...there is like a twist in him...more than just a kink..the funny thing is...he is the biggest...thickest and seems like the strongest of the clutch...Pics of him below..he has such a beautiful pattern
