i hope i dont get shot for asking a question like this but i was jsut interested.

has anybody ever thought about feeding feeder fish to geckos?

clean ones at least that are free from parasites and all that stuff.

i was just wondering if they were nutritious or watever

i know geckos are insectivores and most likely will not go any further than the occaisional pinkie but many animals have been raised in captivity and their diets are strikingly different than their wild counterparts.

once again please no one take me to the executioners room for asking a question out of curiosity.

I would see no problem with it. I mean, fish are pure protien they would be extremely healthy. But I would look into the chemicals in fish to make sure there's nothing in them harmful to insectivores. Hey i ask dumb questions al the time, dont worry about it.

Not with my geckos but I have with my bearded dragon and he seems to be just fine. I only feed them to him for a treat. Only done it twice though b/c fish have a high mercury count and I wanna be careful with his intake of mercury. I would think about emailing someone who has a large history with leopard geckos. Like a breeder, and asking them, they should know for sure. Good luck.
