What do y'all think.....

KevMadden Jul 21, 2008 10:16 PM

I got this girl and a male from Marlon on May 6th. Marlon told me he put them together right before he was going to ship and he said the male was acting very interested and said I should try putting them together. He told me he had cooled the male and there was no reason they shouldn’t go. I told him I don't have that kind of luck, but I would try. After a couple of days in house I put them together (I wasn't too worried about quarantining seeing as they came from the same place and had just been together) and I observed copulation for about 10 days and then he lost interest. I took him out and after a couple of weeks I put him back and he showed no interested. She passed up on her first couple of meals and I asked Marlon about her eating habits and he said she was an aggressive eater. She ate a small ft rat on 6/20/08 that I left with her overnight – nothing since. No poop from that yet. She darkened up quite a bit (see pictures). NO POS. I've only said something to a couple of people - mainly because I'm almost certain she isn't (again - I don't have that kind of luck). Any - what do y'all think?

Thanks,

Kevin

Its possible... Ive had males with females for 2 weeks and pull the male, then the female still drops a healthy litter.

Good luck.

The fact she didn't have a POS tends to put a downer on any hopes I might have. How often have you ever heard of no POS?

Thanks Richard,

Kevin

I think your lucky enough for her to be gravid. Especially with how great that male looks. I once got 2 females (bci though) that I was unsure of being gravid. I didn't get a POS from either, and neither did the person I got them from. Both turned dark, would eat but not pass anything, and 1 dropped 15 great babies and the other gave me some slugs. Best of luck, Nick

Hey Kevin if you observed actual copulation I would treat it like she is to be on the safe side, but keep a close eye on her and that wont be hard to do she is a knock out!! Why dont you send me that mean little monster male I will tame him down, I will even pay shipping LOL... Best of luck Kevin.

I think the first pic of the female looks pretty good, Cage pics are always a pain but looking better. Once you master photography sell me all your B.c.c. and I will pay you big money to throw down some art work quality photos of my snakes!!

LOL....Joel - the first picture was taken by Marlon. She has darkened up quit a bit this summer and she is in the bottom cage and has no light in the to speak of. I use a flashlight to check the bottom chages and I just relied on the flash when taking the cage photo. I hope to see some babies and then her lighten up again. I still have intentions of taking some animals outside one evening to try some in the evening sun.

Take Care,

Kevin
