Canary Chondro Eggs!

KelliH Jul 22, 2008 07:11 AM

Well, we finally made it through step 2. On the morning of the 19th of this month, 17 days from her pre-lay shed, "Buttercups", our female Kofiau chondro gave us 14 good eggs and 1 slug.

This was her first clutch as she was an import in 2005 as a subadult and it is also a pure Kofiau x Kofiau breeding.

Now I am just hopeing that everything goes well for step 3, hatching the little buggers.

Attached are a couple of pics of mom with eggs and eggs.

Thanks for looking!

Your girl is beautiful, congrats on the eggs and good luck with the hatching!

Won't be too long before Kaifu's are available cbb for everyone!!

Very Nice!!!! Good luck with the incubation. I just hatched three clutches (2 of them in the pic) so far this year and one more cooking. If your interested I'd be game to swap bloodlines.

Take care.

Congratulations Steve!! Now let's hope incubation goes smoothly.

Today was the halfway point for my Wamena X Aru clutch. Lost two eggs in the first week (leaving 11), but since then everything looks good....

Steve,
Congrats on this clutch. I am so happy Buttercups came through for you. Is she still doing well after laying? She looks thin, but not too bad for an import on her first clutch.
I think you should post pictures of Gold Standard (male) for everyone to see. If he is still looking as good as the last time I saw him, people will be mightily impressed.
Any chance of a discount for the nice guy who sold you these animals? Just kidding, I'm not in the market for any chondros right now, but they sure do look good. It's VERY tempting.
Hopefully I'll see you at the ETHS show in Sept.
Good luck,
Mike in Houston

Mike,

Good to hear from you. The animals are great and believe it or not, I kept them in the rubbermaid cages that I picked them up in from you. I used 11" flexwatt heat tape for a heat source and they went to town.

Hope to see you in Houston in a couple of weeks. Buttercups is doing great now and has already gotten her body weight back up.

Thanks for the great animals.
