Could she be? DUW

agirlnamedrita Jul 22, 2008 03:45 PM

We bought an adult female ball at the pet store a few weeks ago..The owner got her as a trade for something else...I think she is gravid...the previous owner housed her with another ball of unknown sex...by her behavior I say it was a male....she shed about a week and a half ago..so now all I have to do is wait and see what happens

She is not technically gravid yet but she is well on her way!

So I don't need to put her with one of my males?

She could just be hot -- or she could be building -- whichever the case may be -- since you just got her she should be quarantined and you should most definitely NOT put her in with your males -- as well she really looks too thin to be breeding.

I don't plan on putting her in with any others...and in person she looks ALOT thicker..you can't close your fingers around her...she is about as big around as a light bulb...and we have seen her lay inverted...but I won't purposely breed her till next breeding season......I was just wondering if it was possible she had been bred before we got her

she looks like she could be a yellow belly

agirlnamedrita Jul 23, 2008 12:19 PM

what are the yellow belly markers?...I thought something was up with her and thats why we bought her...she has ALOT of yellow close to her belly...I'll post some belly shots later

I was kinda getting my hopes up about the yellow belly thing...but her belly isn't quite right...not much speckling...she has blushing on her head...the flash of the camera makes it look brighter than what it really is though...Beautiful snake none the less

Not a Yellowbelly but good luck with the possibility of eggs!

She looks too thin?

Not really... they don't have to be fat asses to lay eggs...

She is definitely not 'too hot'... she is building towards her ovulation. Keep an eye on her
