A new aquisition of mine...

Tuscaloosa Alabama Grey Rat, I do not know as of yet what sex it is. I do know he feeds on F/T rat pups and has quite a tude on him. Gatta love Rat snakes...

Cool! I like it. It reminds me of those Kentucky Black Ratsnakes Dwight Good used to post pictures of occassionally.

Is it possible he is possible it is a Black Rat snake...

I thought gray possibly mixed with another rat snake due to the yellows and how dark it is.

Awesome snake!

The distinctions between black rats and grays have never been clear to me. Obviously the jet black Atlantic slope snakes are black rats, but where does anyone get off calling a darkish but well-patterned gray snake a black rat? Yet that is what those populations all across the heartland are called despite their clinal fade into the more traditionally-colored gray rats of the coastal plain. If the intergrade zone covers hundreds of miles, you're probably not dealing with valid subspecies.
