My male super salmon boa's hips are swollen above his cloaca, so much that it sticks his spurs out. Ir's swollen quite a bit (like puffy cheeks). Does anyone know what this might be?

They have scent glands there that can get clogged and infected. I lost a female this way shortly after birth. I just couldn't get the infection to go away. Any type of unusual swelling should be checked by a vet.

Plus, boas don't have hips, that's something us legged animals have. As Morgan's Boas said, any strange swelling needs to be seen by a vet. Let us know what he/she finds. Good luck.
