het albino/yellow belly breeding

luvmyhydra Jul 22, 2008 10:54 PM

I have what I believe to be a Yellow Belly male. He has some blushing on his dark spots but it doesn't come up REAL, barely any flecks on his belly the dirty yellow look going on, the light head etc. I may be getting my hands on a female Albino het next week. If he is a YB, are there any chances he could bring that Albino gene out? This will be my first time dipping into the BP breeding and it doesn't matter much to me if he is YB or not or even if he can't bring out anything in her. I am just excited to have little babies

What do you mean "bring out the albino" gene?
Will you hatch albinos?

No.
IF he is a yb, you should hatch normals het albino and yb's het albino.

Sorry, no a;binos out of that pairing. If your snake is indeed a YB, you could get YBs, YBs het albino, normals, and normals het albino. But no way to tell which were hets and which were not....

will result in the entire clutch being het for albino, no matter what is hatched.

The original poster wrote that he was getting an albino het, not an albino. So all the babies would be 50% probability albino hets.
