After skining, I flesh the skin, then wash, then tan using Rittel's snake tan from taxidermy supply companies.

Excuse my ignorance, but is that first one a Gray's?

Where do you get your specimens? They appear healthier than a lot of the live one's we see!

How much would it cost to have you do one and would it all depend on size and condition of specimen?

Interesting post!

Thanks,

Susan.

The three pictured are White-throated monitor, Argus Monitor and a Black Rough-neck monitor.

The White-throated and the Argus monitor came from a reptile rehab place. Some of the animals had passed away and were put in the freezer. They were getting ready to throw them away and I went down and got a few.

The specimens have to be in good condition. Once they die, bacteria starts immediately...so finding a dead pet that has been under the heat lamp for 12 hrs may not be a good specimen. The sooner you can get one in the freezer, the better.

Please e-mail : azmilk@cableone.net for further information on questions that I can't answer on the forum (price, etc..)

Thanks

Thanks for the info, I've saved it for future reference.

Do you ever work on preserving and mounting the skeletons? They're beautiful, in a strange way.

Really cool website btw!

Susan.
