It has to be traceable back to the original Swedish line first off. They often have a great difference between dorsal and lateral color, often have circles in their saddles and in the stripe on their head, and their saddles often look like they have been outlined in black Sharpie too.
Here are two comparison pictures for you.
Normal

Jungle

Can you see the differences? Some have more extreme differences than others and are easier to tell.
for the pics i have seen some jungles that look alot like normals so how do you find out the lineage if its from a swedish line? well thank you again
I think what big joe is asking and correct me if im wrong is- in the event one were to breed a normal to a jungle and you have a litter, you should have normals and jungles in this litter...however some are "low expression" and how can you tell sometimes for sure which ones are or arent. Ive asked the same question even asked pete kahl directly more than once when ive seen him and he pics him right out, so the answer is that with time you will develop "the eye" for jungles as he has. i found some breeders to really be able to distinguish them, especially those that have a number of jungles they feed weekly and see them all the time. However even still many are being sold as "probable jungle" because they are so borderline that you cant be certain until proven by breeding. there are head markings, cleanliness of background, saddles and diamonds, you will get it in time, just ask someone that has the eye at first, then you'll develop your own. im building the eye myself so i know exactly what you are going thru. last but not least, a jungle you're not sure about is only a known jungle when you breed it to one you are definitely sure is a jungle and produce drastic ones called supers..and all jungles, as someone said, link back to sweden. so if you breed an animal to a known jungle and you dont make supers and just a normal half litter of jungles what you thought was a jungle was just a nice snake and not a genetic trait...or its another line like abby or other, there are alot of awesome looking snakes very aberrant not jungles like abbys and pc abbys and in many cases nicer than jungles. most will transfer to their babies but will not produce the super when bred to the jungle because its simply not a jungle. hopes this helps, and if im wrong please jump in and correct me someone i dont want to steer anyone wrong.
Manny Frade
Perfect Predators
very much yes that is what i was trying to get at
ive seen alot of normal looking boas with really
nice patterns that were selling as jungles and then
ive seen extreme looking boas that said jungles so
i was confused i just bought my own little 2yr old
hypo jungle het albino and her pattern is wicked
but thank you i think ill get the hang of all these
new morphs that keep poppin up every time i look
theres a morph LoL
You can't forget that nice little fact that jungle x jungle = super jungles, that's certainly a dead giveaway, but Manny is right, you just have to get an eye for it and that comes with time.
