URGENT PLEASE HELP!!!

z3speed4me Jul 24, 2008 05:22 AM

PLEASE... anyone with any ideas or knowledge on this help out.

My 2 year old jungle carpet got out last night, I had weights on the top of the tank but somehow he moved the top and now he is out. He is in the basement somewhere and no idea where. We have an exposed ceiling so he could have gotten within the pipes and all that good stuff.

Worst and best part I guess is that he just ate yesterday, so I doubt hell move much, and that leaves months for him to just show up. I also have a terrier which I am terrified to let downstairs now for the snakes safety.

Anyone with any type of crazy experience with something like this please give me some ideas of what could possibly be done. I have been looking for an hour now with my father all over the place and we have no luck!!!

THANKS!!!

Look every where top to bottom as they can fit into very small places. If the basement is cool, look around any heat sources, such as a hot water tank. Keep the dog out of the basement If you can set out a heat pad or basking light area out in the open and some water. Do get a locking lid or better yet a cage like Vision. Best of luck in finding him. Bill

in my experience, wait a week, still keep looking tho, get a rubber maid, and a rat and put it out in somewhere you think he is or would be at, and you will eventually find him trying to crush the rubber maid but you will get him back.

First Breathe,

Second...I've lost all my snakes, well they escape...from ball pythons to morelia. This was a problem when i first started keeping morelia. They were hoodinisbut i learned to secire them. My jungles were the worst. got out every week or 2.

Look up! Jungles wont hide under something. They rather perch even for digestion. They will hang some of their torso to allow the meal to digest. Everytime i lost a carpet i would look up and find them hanging from curtains to closets.

Now i would hang a heat in an area you think he might perch or relocate himself. Also wake up periodically during the night to see if you catch him moving.

Hope this helps,

RB
