Hatchling Ate Carrot!

bonomoc08 Jul 24, 2008 08:49 AM

I buy carrots for the sulcatas, and I grated a little up, and put it on the hatchling's food dish, and he ate it right up. I'm surprised he took carrot, because he even turned down peaches! I switched over to small superworms too, instead of the mealworms. I threw the mealworms into the mud turtle tank, and they ate 'em right up.

Very cool! You may also want to try cucumber. I have a lot of success getting young turtles to eat cucumber. You're lucky to get over the "veggie hurdle" so early!
