The GHOST!

TSKinc Jul 24, 2008 01:14 PM

Well here she is out of the egg. Hopefully the male will be in the next clutch. We will have to wait and see. But it sure looks good. Soon as I get a hatchling axanthic I can put them side by side. Enjoy!

No offense to Dan & Collette, whatsoever. Congratulations on being first to hit the odds. That in itself is incredible. But as far as the look of it, it's not much of an eye grabber. But, I also think Pieds are about the most unappealing looking snakes on the planet, so who cares what I think.

anthony james mc Jul 24, 2008 07:00 PM

The combo potential is the power behind it , not the actual look of it.. A male Axanthic Hypo would spice things up and eventually make some wicked stuff I think, Anthony McCain..

muddoc Jul 24, 2008 10:16 PM

I think you will see a much different snake. At least that is what I hope to see. As much as Hypos change colors as they age, I would think that the True Ghost will look much better at 6 to 8 months old, and potentially even better at 1 to 1.5 years old. I think that is when you will get to see the real beauty of that animal.

Congrats Again TSK,

with every shed. I love the light head pattern, you just don't see that on the Axanthics...definitely influenced by the Hypo gene!! Post pics in a year just to show how amazing she turns out. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Dan and Colette! I just hatched a male Axanthic from my second attempt that has that light head pattern, after seeing your Ghost, I'm convinced he's an Axanthic Het Hypo and he will be staying right here! Thanks!

It does look sort of "plain jane" with all the new colorful stuff hatching these days...but...While most ball morphs look best in their early years,i suspect this one will only get better with time...and it has alot of potential when it comes to breeding!

Congrats to TSK!

the Snake Keeper what line of axanthic they used did you????!!??

JenH Jul 24, 2008 10:54 PM

I don't care who you are... LMAO!

snakewrangler69 Jul 25, 2008 05:37 AM

for references!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO!

rockinreptiles2 Jul 27, 2008 09:26 AM

I did ask. Just because they have their own line does not mean they use it in every project they have. They could of got lucky using a Joliff or VPI line axanthic. With as many snakes as they have they could be trying for a true ghost with every line of axanthic.

Just friggin' great! I've been waiting for YEARS to see this combo come to life! I know some people have been a little underwhelmed with the initial look of the Ghost, but like a couple other posters mentioned - this is definitely one of those snakes that will only get better with age.

Congratulations!

...Oh, and I'm happy to see that you stuck to your guns with the "Ghost" name!

bristen Jul 25, 2008 08:41 AM

it grows... I can't wait to see it after a few sheds.. and even more in 6 months!!

Congrats on a big project.. double recessives are hard to hit!

Regards,
Bristen.
