Hypo Pueblan breeder male

gaigeae Jul 24, 2008 02:21 PM

This male was bred to a het hypo Apricot female last year for the first time. From 6 good eggs last year there were 4 hets that were either tri-color or apricot and 2 light apricot hypos.

This year there were 9 good eggs and a few slugs. One of the eggs went bad and one had a dead baby that was not fully formed. From the 7 that hatched there were 3 tri-color hypos and one very nice apricot hypo. The remaining three were either tris or apricot hets.

The photo of the male was taken last fall just before brumation. He is a little larger now.

The pictures of the hatchlings were taken 2 or 3 days after they hatched. I will take some additional photos after their first sheds.

This is another one of the three tri-color hypos. All three look about the same.

This little one really got my attention when I opened the egg box.

That is a good looking hypo apricot. Much nicer than the "normal" hypos. Hopefully I get some from my male het hypo apricot hooked up with my female normal het hypo.

Thanks. That photo shows off the ture colors better then the first shot. I need to figure out my camera better before I take shots of them after their first sheds.

Thanks Mike. I thought that might be your comment, lol. No, unfortunately there was only one apricot hypo but I like the tri phase also.

Good luck with your projects.

Dennis,

Glad to see that male hypo is doing so well for you. That apricot hypo you got this year is outstanding!

That is one of the nicest (if not the nicest) hypo apricots I have ever seen, but I really like your tricolors too.

Best,
Vinny
