Chondrodactylus help

Dennis Parmley Sep 03, 2003 03:06 PM

Can any Chondrodactylus keepers out there recommend a good summer-winter cycle (temperatures and duration of cooling period) for this species and a good cage substrate.
I would greatly appreciate any help with this. Thanks Much.

I have not done any temperature variations other than what the house does naturally as the seasons change, so no help there.

I keep them on CaCO3 (calcium carbonate) sand w/o any problems. As they are VERY active diggers and like to create a burrow, the sand needs to be deep, at least 2 inches. Also put in something like a half flower pot with a few stones in front of it nestled deep in the sand so they can excavate it and create a burrow.

There are set up pics and info on them at my WEB site...
