A couple QUESTIONS

webster Sep 03, 2003 04:25 PM

Hi
What is the normal time frame for a mature male leo to go between feedings??
Also, I have been told to try to hibernate my leo in the winter and all the info I can find is about hibernating females? I must be looking in the wrong place. Is hibernation really neccessary??
Thanks so much!!!

Hibernation is NOT a requirement, not even for breeding. Some believe it can increase fertility or adjust the beginning of the breeding season. Not sure about that.

As far as feeding goes, I try to keep a few mealies available at all times. If I notice the dish is empty I put a few in. If it goes more than a couple of days before it empties, I give them a day or two off without food.
