nope
not highly recommended.
Actually not recommended at all.
I hear a lot about impaction but I personally don't feel impaction is as likely as just bad habitat conditions.
For a corn snake you need higher humidity then sand dwellers would need. I feel this added moisture can increase the chance of bacteria growing in the sand. Also, sand tends to get everywhere, in the water bowl, in the hides, everywhere.
I hear sand can get under a corn snake's scales and cause irritation. Not so sure it really does, but not so sure it doesn't, either.
there are better substrates for corn snakes including aspen for a more natural environment and paper towels for a more sterile type enclosure.

ok thanks for the info I definately won't be using it then. I always use calcium sand for my leopard geckos and my tarantulas and scorpions but I have never used it for a snake so I was just curious. I have been using newspaper for the longest time for all of my snakes except for my copperhead. I decided to move my corn out of the snake room and into the livingroom so I'm gonna go with a different setup that looks nice. I will just make a trip tomorrow for some aspen shavings then. Thanks for the info it is greatly appreciated.
