Crazy looking spider update...

Ghireptiles Jul 26, 2008 04:08 PM

I posted a pic of this male a couple of months ago and he keeps getting better and better looking. His yellow has intensified ten fold and he has much more black now. One pic is with a flash and the outside shot is no flash. If any of you know what a nice Cummingi monitor looks like...that's the color yellow...really electric!

With flash...

Outdoors...no flash

Thats crazy looking! Looks like an IMG....did it hatch out like that or go through a color change?

The melanin will start creeping back in, no different from the normals that do the same. It will never look completely normal, but it will look quite different in time. Thier are a few theories as to why it happens, but nothing proven yet.

It's from a spider x normal. I have seen animals like this too but with the way it looks I wouldn't be getting rid of him...

Let us know what you figure out with him please.

The spider on top of whatever else this is really makes a nice combo. My girl (minus the spider) has been a sporadic feeder since reaching adult size so no eggs yet. I'm going to start an ASF colony for her. Here she was right after I bought her (history unknown other than reported import).

Looks like a Sulfur IMG spider. It is really nice!! Can you post a pic of the normal that you bred to the spider? Does the normal look like an IMG or a Vanilla by chance?
Thanks,
