Orange baby at 2 months old

kitchi Jul 27, 2008 11:26 AM

This one has not even shed a second time yet. It may turn out my litter pick. It has the huge amount of color that his dad has.

I really love that line of boas. You've got many great attributes such as tail, symmetry, and color all combined. What is the story behind these guys? Where did they come from and are they 100% BCC?
Take care,
Andy

I agree Andy on the characteristics. Some have it "all" (tail pattern, body pattern, tail color, body color, symmetry, cleanliness and contrast). I have been saying for years these are my favorite boas. I do not know much about the history since the original breeder did not publicize them. He or she did not even advertise them for sale when they sold off their collection as they had no Internet access from what I was told. A broker sold them on KS and at the NRBE show and did not give out much info other than saying they were "genetic reverse stripe Surinames". I know of a few other people who had some from this line and have seen some pictures over the years of some. I also had some adults from the 90's from this line that I got from some one else but I do not have them anymore. I bought some babies from the broker advertising on KS from the last litters that the breeder produced in 02' and 03' and have raised them up and produced these this year. Unfortunately, I had two preemie litters as well this year and they were all dead. One was bred to a completely unrelated BCC line and all five preemies had a reverse stripe tail. The other was an 02' bred to a semi-unrelated 03' and there were only two preemies but one was a perfect ladder tail and one was a perfect reverse stripe tail.
