Baby Beardie won't eat

capnmoby Jul 27, 2008 01:37 PM

Hey, i'm new to dragons and have a problem. I acquired two babies on Tuesday. They are about three weeks old, and seemed OK at first, but now one of them has not eaten in 3 days. It is lethargic and not very responsive. We plan on getting it to a vet tomorrow, but do you have any ideas for me?
Thanks

Doug

I almost lost a young baby once, its all due to stress in its environment. Its ur job to minimize the stresses of moving environments as much as possible, sometimes these things we cannot help though. try putting up newspaper around each side of its tank/aquarium if thats what u have them in so they cant see around and get stressed by whats around them. then take them to the vet first thing in the morning they should give you vitamins and some antibiotic.
they should be fine after a couple of days to a week after that, just keep offering small crickets and greens, make sure all the crickets are gone by the end of the day so they cant stress the beardies out when they are trying to sleep.Goodluck!

Make sure he doesn't get dehydrated. BD's get water from the bugs and greens they eat. Try dripping water on his nose and maybe he will lap it up.
