Floridana axanthic lines

FunkyRes Jul 27, 2008 07:12 PM

Since we are talking so much about floridana ...

There's NE Axanthic
BHB Axanthic
and a few others I've seen mentioned.

Are they the same gene but selectively bred into different lines, or are they different genes?

It seems they look somewhat different, though that just could be phenotype differences in the lines themselves.

So what's the 411?

Same gene but different lines, or (live lavenders in cal kings) similar effect but different gene?

I bred the NE line to the lemke line many years ago and they are allelic.

the thing about the BHB anerys that is confusing is they SUPPOSEDLY have TWO seprate lines. One IS allelic with the axanthic lines and the other is supposedly not. But I have only heard of one case were they aren't and that was with rick trenny of Renegade reptiles did a breeding of a Lemke to a BHB anery and he got hets. Not sure if this is true and what happened to these animals as he passed away. The hets were sold to Bart (Horridus)a forum memeber here and he sold them to someone else in Alabama. So I don't know what the outcome of those "supposed" Double hets were and what they produced.
