fantasy gecko morphs?

trex8692 Jul 28, 2008 11:34 AM

You ever think about a fantasy morph of gecko? A special colorway that hasnt been released yet?

What would you like to see in the future?

For me it would be either a solid red, blue, green, or orange leo with no spotting whatsoever on its body.

Heh i know these colors are highly unlikely but they were just fantasies.

What are yours?

p.s. correct me if im wrong but theres some breeders that are looking to breed a solid red leo and they are having a mild success rate.

Mine would be a Piebald. It would be normal coloration with random patches of ivory white. Sort of like a Pinto horse or the Piebald Ball Pythons.
As for your fantasy's, there not to far from reality. The orange color would be something like a Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot-Tail Baldy & with some good line breeding into Red-Stripes you one day could see a solid red.
As for blue, combining a Pastel line with maybe a Line-Bred Super Hypo Snow might some day produce a Blueish gray lavender gecko.
Now with Trempers new Emerald line & I've seen greens in a few different other morphs a solid green could be around the corner. In 2005 befor Tremper had released his Emerald line, I produced a Super Hypo that had no tangerine in it. He was kind of a brownish green. Honestly, I didn't think he was that spectacular & traded him away.
This is a good thought to ponder.

lol i think you may have misinterpreted/i may have mistyped

i was thinking about a blazing bright blue leo

a red one i know will probably come some time because of some morph i have seen from crestedgecko

at least i hope

There's always magic marker. lol.

trex8692 Jul 28, 2008 07:14 PM

true.. but!!

that requires a little too much effort in painting limbs..

why not dunk in a bucket of paint

CSHerps Jul 28, 2008 08:34 PM

If it's all weather, you would be covered for two years or better.

trex8692 Jul 28, 2008 09:04 PM

lol ok guys back on topic

what morphs would you fantasize about?

CSHerps Jul 28, 2008 09:21 PM

Yes I do, Flannel!

trex8692 Jul 28, 2008 09:30 PM

hmm you sir are very brave to admit that, come to think of it a dwarf leo morph would actually be pretty cool..

i mean it might be more fragile, but to beginner lizard owners itll be much easier to accomodate (less tank size etc.)

and a super huge morph would be pretty cool too.. hehe a leo that approaches the size of the green iguanas

Have you seen Urban's Tangerine Tornadoes? Talk about color!! It looks like pure red isn't too far off.

THERE WE GO!

i was trying to remember that name,

i know that morph is amazing, also look up blood hypo.. jaw dropping... a solid red gecko would be so nice

CSHerps Jul 28, 2008 10:31 PM

What can I say, I was in my late teens/early 20s during the 90s in the Seattle area (grunge central). Between the music plus some really good pharmceuticals, flannel seemed like a good idea at the time.

But seriously, I've heard a reliable rumor about dwarf Leos.

Unseriously, why stop at Iguana. As big as a Komodo Dragon.

trex8692 Jul 28, 2008 11:03 PM

coudl you provide me with a link to your dwarf leo rumours?

id think theyd be so cool looking

and to your statement of a komodo leo.. well i wouldnt want a gecko that would possibly require deer as its staple diet, and if deer werent possible, i guess ill have to find a way to breed 24 inch crickets and 5 foot mealworms!! WOOT

CSHerps Jul 28, 2008 11:49 PM

The rumor I heard was from another breeder buddy of mine. I'll try to remember to ask him where he heard it. We didn't really go that in depth into it.

As for huge crickets & mealworms, I'm sure a good quality super growth hormone will work.

trex8692 Jul 29, 2008 04:14 PM

dwarf leos just sound cool to me

i did a bit of googling and i found out that some ppl have randomly come across them and have raised them in perfect health... (seems like a birth defect to me) but cute nonetheless

::As for huge crickets & mealworms, I'm sure a good quality super growth hormone will work.

you mean injecting them with tire air pumps?

ill try that

CSHerps Jul 29, 2008 08:22 PM

When I heard about dwarf, my first thought was that they would be adoreable. I was thinking try a google search & see what pops up. I'll give it a shot when I have some time.

I don't know if a tire air pump would be powerful enough . You might have to go with an air compressor.

trex8692 Jul 30, 2008 04:58 PM

yea those "dwarfs" just kinda look like odd ones out, but if i remember correctly there was a colony established but it had died recently.. O.O wierd

air compressor?! woot you just keep coming up with those ideas done you?

STEVES_KIKI Jul 31, 2008 06:56 AM

i've seen a dwarf type midget leo... actually 2... siblings... they were i think 6 months old and only about 3 inches long with tail... the tails were curled too... my friend who had them is getting ready for a baby so i might not be able to get pics.... but they were definately interesting looking...

Get some pics up of them when you get a chance. Are they normal coloration or a type of color morph?

trex8692 Aug 07, 2008 01:29 PM

theyre transparent and you can see their organs.. DUH!
