SULFUR is a brand name

Bluerosy Jul 28, 2008 02:17 PM

Brandon I thought i would bring this to the top for calrification and all the post below are getting buried.

And just for fun.....my wife is an English major/teacher attending graduate school.
Yeah well the person who told me was already a grad for years. Did you know that in Britain "advertise' means "tell'. That "allege" means "prove" and "conversation" means "behavior"? To "communicate" means "to share" and prevent means "precede". What does she think about that?

The whole point in this "SULFUR" name it is a brand. Kinda like if you made Harley Davidsons and then I resold them as Harly Davidsons. I think it should be all respect to the person who marketed the snakes for many years (me) and what they have been calling them.

Brandon,
Do you even know how many people were selling the Sulfur lavs over the last 5 years?

Or better yet do you know how many people will have them this year? Go ahead and answer this question and lets see how much you know about the sulfur name.

I was the only one selling these over the last few years. You are the only other person i know that has had them and did you produce any??? If so, how many ?

You seem overly smug today about something you say you have no bone in.

I'll ask you again Rainer. Where did you get your "sulfurs"?

Ya ya. i see from where you posted below where you are going with this. i will post it here so you won't have to repeat"

you said:
The thing I find fascinating is that you have produced many first time morphs, but some that you take credit for producing were purchased from other breeders that produced them long before you.

And I never said, mentioned or ever alluded to the fact i did not originate them. I popularized them. Just like i did with the peanut butters and the T negatives. I was the one who was working with them on a alrge scale and put the names out there for years. Just because i was not some lucky person who bred two unkown w/c hets together to claim that I was the originator has no place in this arguement and a weak one on you part i must add becaseu i did all the work on these animals breeding and refining them to where we are today.. Frankly I don't understand where all the hostility is coming from but I take offense at your remarks and accuastions which are

Second thing you mentioned in you sentence that someone else was producing for a "long time" before me is also not true.

So why don't you answer my questions before you go asking more from me.

I guess the same reason you skate around my questions. Keep up the great work....I really mean it.

Peace out.

i asked the questions first and you want to answer with questions and then make it seem like i am not answering yours when i already did.. this is getting old. besides I asked these same questions in the thread below this one and this is the second time I am asking.

here are the same questions again.

Actually Rainer, my first post was the question in question. So how is it you asked me first? It doesn't really matter. Again, I never discredited your work. You have done a fantastic job with the brooksi market and I'll leave it at that. I'll see you in Daytona and we can have a group beer together with all on the forum.

Sounds good but I still don't know what your rants were on things like the New englands have fertility issues and so on.

And i still don't know what you are wanting answered. The full history on the sulfurs was given in the thread below by two people. I never said i originated the sulfurs. So i don't get your point.

But be it as it may I will assume you never bred any sulfur lavenders even though you had some in your collection from Andy. I am the only one that probably has produced them and that may include this year as well.

Didn't come from Andy. I had some from Andy from 2000, but sold those and the Lemon Kings 4 years ago. I lost my female this year, but I have another one on the way.

Here are a couple a buddy of mine got from me.

Yep. I only had a pair. The lav female that I had ended up being a male. I never contested it. I paired them up for 3 years before the female would have anything to do with the male.

Wasn't it Len Krysko that first applied this term to Florida kings? And your line, as far as I know, is a separate line from his. Out of respect for his branding, shouldn't you call yours something else?

It doesn't really matter either way. We're in America. It's "Sulfur".

Brandon Osborne Jul 28, 2008 02:57 PM

Since I am of European and native American descent, can I use both? lol.

Nokturnel Tom Jul 28, 2008 04:14 PM

For me,...it was on Kryskos site that I first saw Sulfur listed. The thing is I recall debate saying he may have had only a few specimens over many years of collecting/keeping. The same was said for his high yellow lines that may have even been called Brooksi but were from north of Okeechobee. Maybe they were just high yellow Floridana? Can't remember....
I don't know but it was criticising of studies like his on Kingsnakes that showed me just about anyone is fair game on this forum. You tell people a guy like him studied Kings in the wild and in a collection for decades and some guy will tell you he was wrong about this n that. Reminds of another forum local who takes his fair share of knocks on here. I look at both peoples points but often share the views of the veterans.
It's a shame I missed out on those Kings from Krysko. I found him too late when the site had not been updated in years and I think he was not selling anything.

The breeder/website referred to is Len Krysko. The published Lampropeltis studies are by his son, Dr. Kenneth Krysko.

I thought they both ran the business....see you at Daytona? I may be bringing home a Uro this year. By the way the King I got from you is a monster but she is growing fast and really nice looking.

The “school bus yellow” was from Tampa area, west of the cane fields. I think Krysko can tell you that. Some of the kings found up that way, and by that I mean like four of them, may have been hyper xanthic- having excess yellow. Anyone who line bred or refined them has the right to call them Sulfer or whatever they want. There was never a locale that you could say they were so inclined. It was an oddity of color only, and not that big of a deal as it was the same bright yellow you would see in some chain kings or desert kings. Nothing unique, just an oddity in Floridana.

Bring on the oddities!!!!!!
