Shedding?

jrpierce Jul 28, 2008 07:01 PM

My 14 month old normal female's belly turned pink on last friday, so I quit handling her and put her in back in her domain, and put cypress mulch in there like I always do. Humidity on my Hygrometer said HI for about 8 hours which should be fine because it always goes down to about 80-85 in a day or so. Today is monday and although she usually finishes shedding within 48 hours tops.
My question is... is she shedding ok? Currently I have both hides with cypress mulch in them and the humidity is at 78%. She is just grey and waiting to shed but she doesn't seem to be getting anywhere.

Your humidity is definately high enough. Pythons seem to have longer shed cycles than other snakes (garter snakes get it all over with in like, 5 days). Your ball python's eyes should have gotten foggy and then cleared up again, it should shed a couple days after the eyes clear up, that's what mine do anyway. It'll probably shed tonight or atleast within the next couple days, I wouldn't worry.
