Oddity in the sulfur line of florida

Bluerosy Jul 28, 2008 07:23 PM

Well kinda..

Here is something I find odd. this is from outcrossed lines of the sulfur trait. In actuality they are all outcrossed and watered down anyway becaseu the sulfur trait is not a reccessive trait like albinism.

But here in this clutch of triple hets and I find this odd. Some normals are dark and some are very sulfury looking.

I saw a small clutch last year where one had that look. If you look at that clutch of Brandon's sulfurs, at least one or two were clearly lighter than the rest.

ya , but this happend last year and on other clcuthes with the sulfur trait. I mean the difference is like night and day. Even in Brandons they all looked more sulfury to me and not this opposite.

...sulfur lineage kings X kings without sulfur lineage?

All of them that I've seen have been sulfur X sulfur.

I've got some sulfur X Steve Osborne lavender eggs cooking right now. I'm curious to see if they display that same sort of variation.

I have another clucth hatching soon. I am curiuos to see what this next clutch will look like.

any chance your lavender is from the extreme orange lines? If so I bet you are going to produce some flamethrowers! That is a great combination.

I wish! The lavender doesn't have much orange on her at all. I'll probably keep the most orange pair and redistribute the rest.

Sooooo do you think it is possible that even though a gene that will "wash out" like sulphurs can show up again randomly in the future in the next generations?

Life moves pretty fast, if you dont stop and look around once and a while,... you could miss it.

No I don't beleive that it will. But this occurance of a blackish sibling hatchling and yellow hatchlings makes me wonder.

But to answer your question. No, they shouldn't.
