I love this time of year................

An incubator full of eggs, and the first of the season for me,
to start hatching are a pair of Skarlet Kings. I couldn't be happier!

Very cool pics... congrats on the little guys. I'm envious of the larger eggs you get -- Sandhills right?

Really nice, tight set up you have as well.

Yes, they are Sandhills SK's. I bought the incubator used, but "Good to Go!", but after closer inspection, I realized that the wiring was all shot. So I completely tore it apart and ran
heat cable around the bottom, sides and back, and plug it into
a Herpstat. I also made two more stainless steel rack shelves, to allow more air flow. I also wired a 24 volt CPU fan to an adjustable voltage adapter, that I can use to control the speed of the CPU fan. I usually keep it on the 9 volt setting, which
allows for a slow fan speed, and steady air flow. I also put a
piece of plexi glass over the right side, so that I can open the right side door and look at the eggs and water level in the bottom container, without allowing a massive loss of warm air and humidity. I originally built this for my Green Tree Pythons,
but it works great for the rest of my collection as well.
Thanks

That is an interesting incubator set up. Is that a commercially built one, or one you constructed?

It's an anaerobic labratory culture incubator
that I completely tore apart and rebuilt to my needs.
I paid $150.00 for the incubator and put another
$250 in material into rebuilding it, which took about
two days of work. The thing I really like about it is that it's set up just the way I wanted it, unlike a lot of the pre-built
incubators out right now. I can very easily adjust temprature, humidity, and air flow. I was going to buy and Avey incubator, $400-$700. After doing some research, I found out that I would still have to do some alterations in order to correctly
incubate Chondro eggs, which is the primary reason for me getting an incubator. All said and done, I'm very happy with it. The only thing I'm not too happy with is all the cords, but I plan on correcting this as soon as this season is over.
Thanks.

Congrats Phil, that's awesome. Looks like you've got a nice full incubator there! I still have the same level of excitement as I did the first time when I see those noses popping out of the egg.

Lets see pics when they fully emerge!
