Hognose off feed?

KevColubrid Jul 29, 2008 10:22 AM

I don't normally post on this forum, but I had a hognose question to ask.

I have a male western hognose snake that's around two years old. He has always been a very reliable feeder, sometimes even a downright pig. Two months ago, he stopped eating, and hasn't shown a whole lot of interest in food since. There has been absolutely no change in his environment, his temps are fine, etc. I was curious if it's normal for them to go off feed this time of month, or if anyone had any suggestions for kick starting him again. He hasn't seemed to have lost any weight, and seems healthy otherwise. Very hissy

It isn't completely unusual for a hog to go off feed, although the summer months probably aren't the most likely times. Just st patient but aware for now. Keep trying and don't worry too much just yet.

N/M, for whatever reason he decided to break his fast tonight. Weird. Didn't eat for two months, then for some reason tonight decided he was hungry. I offered him food two days ago, and he turned it down. Weird little guy.
