I have been amazed at how many pictures i have been getting asking if this or that is a Black Belly. It feels like the Yellow Belly thing all over again lol.

Black Bellies have more traits than just a black stripe down the belly! I am seeing a lot advertised as poss Black Bellies, all the ones i have seen are NOT. If they are not asking a lot it may be worth the shot, but if you are looking for the real deal, make sure you get one from a proven source. (As of now there is only 1 person producing any and there will be only 4 clutches produced this year.) There was a Super Pastel Black Belly that is fantastic and i will post pics soon.

At this time i will not be doing a Hunters Guide on them to protect people that are investing in them. So far the only cross that has been done with them (Black belly x Pastel = Yellow Jacket) is unreal. I can wait to see what happens when they are breed to each other or other morphs!

Having seen black bellies and yellow jackets in person all I will say is : if you have a real deal black belly you will know it!

As John said its just like a yellow belly... the belly is not the only thing to look for. They are very impressive looking on their own.

As for the yellow jackets... Everything you have read about them is a understatement... they burn your eyes they are so bright.. even at 600 grams they are insane!!!

on Jon's site

but I have to say I saw it (or one) in person in Orlando at the FIRE show and the picture really doesn't do it justice. No offense on your photography skills Jon it is just THAT nice of animal and it needs to be seen in person to REALLY appreciate it.
