confused!!

cochran Jul 29, 2008 06:05 PM

I just "popped" 2 clutches of corns and it appears that out of 38 babies I only have 1 male! As fate would have it,the only male is also the only runt that doesn't want to eat on his own. What is the likliehood of having all these females? Thanks!, Jeff

Jeff,
Are you sure you applying enough pressure when popping? I have missed males before because I was afraid of pushing too hard and injuring them.

I guess I could be but,I have one male that is really obvious and I'm doing the same with all of them. Jeff

Now tell that wouldn't be a sweat deal!! Over 30 females!!

Indeed. Wisema2297 is a very wise man. As a general rule-of-thumb I'll sex "females" 2 or 3 times on different days just to be sure. It's somewhat frequent for a male not to pop.

Thanks for the compliment but I do not put myself at a level in this hobby equal to people like yourself yet. The username is really a compilaiton of the first to letters of the first names of my 3 son's. WIllie, SEth, MAson.

I would have to say retry a couple at a time. Bet you have more males than you think

Leave them all together in the same container for a week. If by the end of the week there hasnt been any hair pulling, it's possible there are more males in there than you might think
