My son has a leopard gecko that he got April of 2007 and she was fairly young at that time. She has done well all along with eating and moving around. At the time of purchase the light that was purchased was melting the cage and background so we then purchased the light that went with the cage about 4 months ago. This light didn't seem to put off much heat and Sally would not come out of her hide very often. She was still eating her crickets but after a bit she stopped eating her mealworms. She was still shedding as normal and pooping too. Just not eating the worms. About a month ago we noticed that she was not opening her eyes much at all and they seemed a little crusty in one eye. I spoke with the guy at the local petsmart on July 10th and took her in to have him look at her. He had me leave her there with him for 10 days as he put some type of cream in her eyes and an antibiotic as well. Over the 10 days he said she was looking better and her eyes were opening more and she was out a lot more. He stated that it seemed to be a lack of heat causing the problem. I picked her up 10days later and her eyes seemed to be a little better but not much. She has been coming out of her hide and under her light (whole new setup with correct heat)all the time. She has shed in the last week and is still pooping. However, she will not eat her mealworms or crickets at all now. I have been hand feeding her Repta-Aid since Saturday and she has gained a lot of weight. Her eyes are no longer crusty but she does not open them much. How should I handle this?
