it's been a while since I've posted here, but Sidney's doing fine. He's been through yet another parasite, and I got done with treatment for that so I just need to take in a follow up fecal and see if I got rid of it all yet (with my luck he'll probably have another parasite. My vet said "he's a wormy guy"
. He's been kinda constipated for a little while. Generaly his bowel movements are spaced apart by usually at least 5 days, but now more than 7. What are ways to aid in this? Should I start bathing him more often? Are there any foods I can give him to help keep him regular?
Anyways, here's the other questions I had. Basically, he's 16 or 17 inches long (i think all the parasites have stunted his growth a little) and just about 1 and a half years old. He's in a 40 gallon breeder size tank (36"x18"x18"
and i plan on getting him something larger in the future, something like a 75 gallon (48"x18"x20"
. But for now, how can I maximize play space in his slightly small habitat? I was thinking about possibly putting in a second floor in about 1/3 or 1/4 of the tank so that he could go under and over (sort of adding to his floor space). Would this be a good idea? Are there any other ways of decorating the cage so that he has a little more space but still stuff to play on?
I think I'll come up with more questions, but that's all for now.
later
