Killerbee lounging in its egg...

AandBReptile Jul 31, 2008 09:22 AM

Our season was very late this year and our first clutch is just pipping now. Here's a killer bee from the clutch who is in no hurry to leave its egg!

Enjoy!

Based on our experience, hatchlings usually take about 24 hours to emerge from their eggs after pipping. It really depends on the animal and how much yolk they have left to absorb at the time they pip. We have had some that don't emerge for two or three days. Most are out the day after they pip though. Thanks!
