Try making it a foot for an ackie and see how he likes it, if not go deeper.

Hey Shvar,

What about B/T's? What depth do you keep your dirt at?

I was thinking 1.5 feet at the lowest end and a max of 2.25 feet near the basking area. Does this seem to be enough or is more best?

So they can burrow down in but Ive also been told that they bury eggs at 12 inches no matter how deep the dirt is. I offer about a foot and a half for Sobek because for now thats all I can. But 2-3ft would be neat I think for her, more ideas for her future cage, hmmm?? Go as deep as you can but also offer an albig something to climb on like a tree piece as high as you can, more ideas ,hmmm? Offer what you can and see if they make use of it, choices and options.
