Is everyone having trouble with permits?

Doug T Jul 31, 2008 11:49 AM

Hey everyone,

I sold an indigo months ago to one of the frequent posters here. His application went in quite a while ago (months?) yet there has been no progress.

Most years the permits process fine. This would probably be the longest I've seen a permit to be processed. Is this going on with anyone else?

Thanks for asking, Doug. I was just on my way to do the same. Anyone got any information on how long it has taken them this year?

I submitted my application about seven weeks ago, and hope that the permit will arrive soon.

When I applied for my permit it took 93 days for me to recieve it back from USF&WS, and let me tell you it felt like a year.

I bought an Eastern from Steve Fuller and it was taking a long time. I called and Victoria Davis' phone msg said to contact two other guys. I left msgs for both, and one called me back after a couple of weeks. He was her supervisor and said that she moved on to a different job, so he and the other guy were handling the permits in her absence. However they weren't really handling them in a timely fashion.

How much you wanna bet that they still don't have anyone officially handling the permits? After all it's the government and it's only been a year that they've had to fill her job :/

Paul,

I don't think USFW backfilled the vacancy created when Victoria left, and now there is only one person reviewing all the Interstate Commerce Permit applications. In June I spoke with David Dell, whom I believe was Victoria's supervisor and it was my impression that he is pretty much on his own. He seemed like a very reasonable guy, and made some helpful suggestions to me on an application issue, but he's probably swamped.

Ironically, my permit arrived this morning. The time involved was about seven weeks. All in all, not too bad I guess.

It sounds like I need to contact David Dell...

His direct phone number at USFW in Atlanta is (404) 679-7313. Don't tell him I sent you! LOL

Do you know when they cashed your application check? Mine still hasn't cleared, which concerns me greatly...

I got mine today, too. I should have checked the mail earlier.
