More "exotic species of Anoles (Norops)

yeagermeister111 Sep 03, 2003 08:32 PM

I'm looking to see if anyone here breeds any other species of anoles than what you can get for $.99 on a list. I was in Costa Rica for a good amount of time and there are some from there I would love to get. I'm also interested in some other ornate types if anyone is breeding them. Email me privately (yeagermeister111@yahoo.com) as well as the list.
Best,
Justin

....do you work with Mark Pepper @ understoryenterprises.com?

Thanks, I have been in contact with him. I was wondering if other people out there kept other species and were breeding them.

Justin

Are you only looking for the genus Norops? ....I dont breed any, but Yann Horstink (sp.?) might know alot about them, and can probably find someone who keeps them....email him aswell. He pops up here a couple of times.

I was looking for either Anolis or Norops. Just some ornate types that are uncommon. I think they would be great candidates for more terrarium culture, and think it would be a nice chage to work with a few. If any other names pop up, let me know. Or better yet, have them contact me if you hear from them.

Justin

There are to many uncommon species in captifity so i wont right all the down here. But, to help you, all are combined with an name, and emailadres at the website from the Anolis Contact Group: come.to/anoliscontactgroup/

Mainly all other genus then Norops are found in captifity. Norops, the mainland genus aren't found in high density and are in most cases agressive to each other (even female vs. female and male vs. female). Also the aren't the most collorful compared to the Caribbean Anolis, whch make it also why the aren't kept much. Most Norops are quit hard to keep and breed.

I think they would be great candidates for more terrarium culture, and think it would be a nice chage to work with a few. If any other names pop up, let me know. Or better yet, have them contact me if you hear from them.

Just see the website of the ACG and contact someone. There are manily CB available.
