The Argus in the foreground is presumed to be male, the Argus in the background is proposed to be a female. I'm hoping to have a more accurate estimation of sex in a few months., but morphological and behavioral cues suggest that I, or we, may not be far off. We've been wrong in the past, though.

They do not typically bask or shelter together, but during the past few days they have been spending a lot of time in close proximity. Although I have noticed occasional agonistic behavior (posturing, hissing, rare chasing) in the past, that has ceased, at least in my periods of observation, over the past few days. "She" doesn't appear to be cycling and these behaviors could be some form of dominance, but they are still interesting when considering the age and size of the individuals.
