I was wondering if anybody knows of a good place to see reptiles in the Orlando area. I will be there for a week on vacation, and I know Florida is huge on reptiles. Thanks for any replies.

are you looking to see them in the wild or captivity. Within the Orlando area there are a few places that you can see some reptiles in captivity.

Gatorland in Kissimmee - various crocodillians and snakes

Reptile World serpentarium in St. Cloud - various snakes and venom extractions performed.

Central Florida Zoo in Sanford - nice little Reptile House as well as reptiles in the park.

For looking for them in the wild you might contact the Central Florida Herp Society

You might be able to make contact with some through there that is doing some field stuff.

Nice i live in orlando and only knew of gatorland. Lol and i still havent been there. Its hard to get anyone to go with me seeing how im the only herp nut i know.

Reptile World Serpentarium is run by George Van Horne, a really great guy and Fred Antonio was, not sure if still is as I haven't been in a while, the curator of Reptiles at the Central Florida Zoo, another great guy.
