Wasn't sure what to expect....

Kerby... Aug 01, 2008 10:06 PM

The daddy is the light colored chocolate cal king (red eyes) (het albino; and the mommy is the Mendota (hypermelanistics). I thought I was going to get normals...but obviously the chocolate is also het hypermelanistic.

10 eggs:

5 hypermelanistics
4 banded
1 still in the egg

Those are nice, Kerby! The father looks really interesting. What exactly is he? A het for albino shouldn't have red eyes, right?

I picked up that male a couple of years ago at the Tucson Reptile Show. Russ said he bought it as a baby from a guy in Minn/Wisc area as a baby. He never bred it. I liked the way it looked. It does have red eyes, but I have other cal kings that are double hets of various sorts that aren't albino and they have red eyes.

I have another interesting clutch hatching right now (not what I was expecting). I will post those when they are done hatching (more purple cal kings LOL )

Cool Frankensteins Kerby. BTW, the aberrant parent is a "Delta Banded" aberrant (if it's pure), not a Mendota (Eiseni), just so you know...lol
