My beardies laid eggs please help

angelic_eyes Aug 02, 2008 12:02 AM

I have an adult male and female , she laid eggs today 11 that I could see, And im not sure what to do.

Ive tried finding information all over online and im only finding about incubating them or unfertile just females laying eggs, and I dont know what to do.
I read you should take them out and freeze them then throw them away?
I dont have a incubator so thats not a choice, Just dont want to stress my buddies out so whatever is recommended to do would be great, thanks guys.

Hello,

That´s right, you can do it in the freezer when you don´t
want to incubating the eggs.So when you have a friend with
a Tegu, monitor or a animal like that you can give him for feeding, when it´s ok for you!)

hope i could help.......

Yes the humane thing to do is freeze the eggs before discarding if you are not going to incubate them.

The female will be very dehydrated after laying. Give her a bath or offer water from and eyedropper till she won't take anymore. It is likely that she may lay eggs again in 2-5 weeks so you need to give her all the food you can so she will use as little of her internal stores as possible. You should also be sure she gets enough calcium since it takes a lot of calcium to shell the eggs.
