What kind of caging do you have him in? Are there certain times he strikes? Like after certain movements, or after feeding, etc. Some more info would be helpful in providing you accurate advice.

Thanks,
Jessica

No specific time he just strikes at anything trying to change his water or just opening his cage to change his bedding just about anything seems to make him mad hes in a bigger cage than what he was housed in before that is more appropriate to his size hes about 5ft and hes in a 4ft cage before he was in a 41qt tub

try giving him a shoebox hide. try to handle him with some welders gloves and carharts lol sounds crazy but I had a buddy that used that method and tamed down a yellow conda.

Jack is right, you just have to suck it up and handle him. If he realizes your going to leave him alone everytime he hisses and strikes, he'll never stop.
Good luck.
BTW usaully the nasty ones are good breeders, I wouldn't let his temper stop me from breeding him, give it a shot..

I agree. Start out by not leaving when he strikes his tank. Stand there for a few minutes and let him go at it. Then leave for a minute and then go back. I had a hog island who was fine except right after feeding, then she would strike the side of the tank whenever I walked by. I didn't leave her alone and after 2 to 3 times, she stopped. She ended up being a very sweet little gal. Best of luck!
