well, for the past week I have been going to my farm to do some herping. Hoping to find some copperheads. I have been three times at different times of the day and so far I have had no such luck. I live in western Kentucky and have seen them at my farm in the past while hunting. Never fails though, when I'm not out looking for them I see them and when I'm looking for them I never find any. It kinda confuses me cause the habitat seems perfect for them. Lots of dead trees and branches. Leaf cover, hundreds of frogs for food. But never any copperheads. I have found a couple of black rat snakes and one red bellied water snake. I was wondering if I would have better luck trying at night? I have been in the early morning and late afternoon. What do you guys think??
