Here is the finished rack using the same shelves, with about 1/8" gap above each tub. I used some nice plywood for the new sides, which Home Depot had labeled as "Cabinet Grade Plywood". It seems like pretty good quality, and looks good, I think. I like melamine edges to be "finished" and decided not to paint it, so I put white, iron-on edging , and used it on the plywood edges also. I may eventually take it off and use some wood grain edging that I have seen, which I think would really make the rack look sharp. I wanted to put casters on the bottom, but was left with not enough room for the ones I wanted to use. I may put some on in the future, because this rack is a real chore to move, and is the heaviest one I have made.
Another view.

My rack wall. My AP cages are on the other side of the room.

By the way it is possible to include the images all in one post useing the IMG tag listed in the tools and toys section.
Just a little tip for easier viewing.

That looks very nice, good work!

Thanks! I get better with every one. LOL It is definately much more sturdy than the old 41 qt rack, and probably my strongest rack, so far.

Looks great. I have seen white racks with bull-nose trim milled from oak that looked very good. It could right over the edge banding assuming you used melamine glue.

Thanks Chris! I will probably try that - sounds like it would look pretty good. I have removed iron-on melamine edging before - same way it goes on, with a hot iron. It is a pretty tedious job, though.
