They are like all varanidae, with exception of 4 species (V. komodoensis, V. bengalensis, V. flavescens, V. griseus) ALL Appendix II C.I.T.E.S. status and no problem being imported what-so-ever, that is if any quota are still open for them to be exported from Indonesia? There was a few of them at EBV (510-841-1400) for sale awhile ago - you can check them out if you like??

Cheers,
mbayless

Hello all....

All true, but in addition V.prasinus is locally protected by indonesian legislation. Only F2 captive bred V.prasinus are allowed for export from Indonesia. Since there are very few people breeding this species in captivity in Indonesia up to F2 status only very, very, very few V.prasinus get to leave Indonesia legally. So basicly all fresh WC V.prasinus are illegal.

best regards,

Vincent
