bad clutch? our first cluthc was 100% hatch all fat all healthy. second clutch kinked, deformed, etc.. temps and humidity all good. first and second clutch in same incubator and from same father....frustrated!!

I feel your pain! I had my last clutch of the season to go full term then die in the egg!They were okeetees het.amel.They were incubated just like the others that hatched,same incubator,temps,etc. Jeff

What kind of incubator were you using? Most types that hobbyists use only ADD heat and do not cool down once it gets over the desired temperature. Therefore if you were incubating in the low 80s and the temperatures got into the upper 80s or lower 90s even for a day or two, you can very well get kinked babies. Incubation temperatures are meant to be steady when using an incubator. Spikes in temperature seems to cause spinal deformities.

hovabators and I had 100% hatch out of the clutch in the same incubator. I would like to post a pic of the other clutch all healthy and fat. same incubator same temp and only 3 days apart on drop dates. I had a temp of 84 degrees 75% humidity steady through out incubation and clutches hatched in 54-60 days. How do I post a pic?

my room goes from 79 to 89......I'm not altogether sure whay kinks form.......I get alot one year and hardly any the next....even with temps fluxuating like they do....

I also think too moist substrate will cause alot of troubles....and can cause full formed dead in eggs alot....

.....and alot of times there is no reason for kinks....

......just my thoughts...
