Poop question

montysmama Aug 04, 2008 11:33 AM

Hello all! My python is over ten years old and appears to be healthy and active. Recently, when my python poops, more than half of the bottom of the cage is soaking wet.

This is new behavior and I am wondering if I should be concerned.

Thanks!

I'm no vet, and a newbie to balls to boot, so take this with a grain of salt, but, that sounds like it might be a kidney issue. Someone can correct me here, if I'm wrong. I'd get a vet to check your guy out, either way, doesn't sound like normal behavior for a creature that passes dry urates. Best of luck!

My ball does that too. It could be from your snake soaking in the water dish. He could be splashing water in and out of the bowl. Mine soaks before he poops and I find the substrate is soaked! Hope this helps..
