While I'm going to breed my sulfurs to other stuff, for fun, my main project is to produce a lot of them and maintain them as a locality specific (Hillsborough County, FL) project.
I spent 4 years regularly hunting Hillsborough County for kings, and only came up with 2. Neither of these were exceptional for Florida kings. I still have one I caught last year, and I'm planning to her breed into my sulfurs next year. I've got an F1 from the same spot as my wild-caught female I may be able to breed next year, too. This is the same spot that Andy Barr's founder dream king animals came from. Even though mine aren't spectacular, they may have the genetic potential to produce high yellow kings.
