I went to a petstore

agirlnamedrita Aug 06, 2008 01:36 AM

And the owners supplier had brought in what is supposed to be an adult male Hog Island Boa...I think he duped her again...Not only is he bringing her animals that are sick...but is playing off boas as one type when they clearly aren't...This "Hog Island Boa" looks like a large version of my nicaraguan boa...circle pattern...black tail...with the white stripe down the tip of the tail...Next time I go to the petstore which will be thursday... I will take pics of this snake and post em here...may you guys can give me a locale for it...because it looks NOTHING like the Hog Island pics I have seen online...and there is a $349 price tag on it...I wonder what he charged her for it

That sucks and the pet store owner should atleast do some researh before purchasing specialty animals and accepting sickly animals is crazy. With the internet available she could have just typed in "hog island boa" and gotten all of the pictures and info she needed to know that her supplier was wrong. Most petstores do not care anyway and will pass it off as what they want it to be. I have corrected a couple of my local petstore people on a few occasions but they still misrepresent the animals and people still buy them. Good luck with giant nic hog!

One good thing about this pet store owner is she actually does care...Everything she gets in that she isn't sure of she always asks us to make sure for her..and when he brings in sick animals she does make him come and get them...and her shop has got to be the cleanest small pet store I have EVER seen...even her rodent room smells good..she has only been dealing with this guy for a very short time...I met him once and he seems like a major bull shi**er...he brought her a suriname and it was actually a suriname...but it had scars...he told her they were breeding scars where the snakes bit each other during breeding...looks like rat bites to me...

Is this the same as the rat lady...?

Sounds like she needs to hook up with some REAL breeders... could you give her a list maybe of good ones off kingsnake?

Might help her make *better* purchases...
